GLOBAL VIPASSANA PAGODA

Global Vipssana Pagoda

Global Vipassana Pagoda is an expression of our gratitude towards the Buddha. Global Vipassana Pagoda in Mumbai is marked as one of Seven Wonders of Maharashtra, by the state’s government. This meditation hall was inaugurated in February 2009, by the then President of India Pratibha Patil.

Large crystals are used on pagoda’s pinnacle and the spire is covered with real gold, and special Burmese ornamental umbrella on the top. Rest of the pagoda is gold painted. This is a symbol of peace, built in remembrance of Lord Buddha and his teachings, which is followed by innumerable devotees.

This pagoda has semblance with Shwedagon Pagoda of Myanmar and is built by blending the aspects of modern technology and ancient India in order to make it last at least for a thousand years.
