Haridwar is also called as hardwar is one of the seven holiest places located in the beautiful Indian State of Uttarakhand. The city by its name Haridwar means “Gate of God ‘and so as the city Surrounded by Temple and Ashrams.This is one of the famous Hindu Town visited by millions of Devotees every year. “Har ki pauri Haridwar” is one of the famous destinations in the city on the banks of Holy river ganga. Ganga aarti at Har Ki pauri which is also known as ganga ghat is attended by thousands of Devotes every day. People believe here that taking a dip in the River Ganga will wash away their Sin.

The city of Haridwar or Hardwar named as Doorway of gods from the name of Lord Shiva as “Har” and Lord Vishnu as “Hari” as hari. According to history the Amrit, a portion of immortality which was made by the Gods and demons together fell on Earth. It is Amongst the one of the places where the Amrit was split so this is considered as one of the Holiest destinations for hindus. Har ki pauri one of the Famous destinations in the city is a Ghat which is build by Vikramaditya in the memory of his brother.

There are also two other Ghats which are Guaghat and Vishu ghat. People say that Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu used to visit these ghats asthere is the footprint of lord Vishnu at “Har ki pauri”.
