The Kempty falls is a waterfall located in Tehri Garhwal district in the beautiful Indian state of Uttarakhand. The falls are between the two beautiful hill stations of dehradun and mussoorie. It is a beautiful waterfall which is falling from the height of 40 ft and located at the altitude of 4500 ft above the sea level. The Falls offers a mesmerizing panoramic view as the water falls from the mountains. This is one of the beautiful and renowned waterfalls in india.
This destination was discovered by the british officer John Mekinan, around 1835. The name Kempty is probably derived from the word ‘camp-tea’. There is a pond which is formed at the middle of the falls is an excellent sport for swimming and bathing. Flight of stairs leads to the ponds where one enjoys with friends and family. One of the best ways to enjoy the view of kempty falls is from the kempty falls ropeways which will give you a breathtaking view of the mountains and lush green forests. One can get the view of Dehradun and Mussoorie trail from this ropeway.
In Winter the temperature here is very cold which will restrict you from bathing into the water. Many tourists from all over the world visit this fall. As the destination lies in between the Dehradun and Mussoorie this is one of the famous tourist spots to visit while you are around Uttarakhand close to these two beautiful places.
Best time to visit the falls is in the summers between the months of April to june. As the climate here during this month is pleasant and suitable for travelling.
Although this fall is open throughout the year but in rainy season the flow of the water may be more and it is risky to visit.
